L&P, Fish and Chips, Buzzy Bee and Jaffas!!!

Now before I start I thought that I would let you know that all of us year 7 and 8s go to Tech over at Incon School,  But this week sadly I missed the bus but on the bright side I still go to hang with the awesome year 5 and 6 and discover what they are doing while im usually away.

I have discovered that they do knitting and they create this thing called Kiwiana.

Lucky I got the chance to create a Kiwiana with them and I was very proud of it and thought that I would share it with you all today.

So I have created a small slide with some things that I think are Kiwiana and made some images to go along and also added in why I think that they are Kiwiana.

First off, What is Kiwiana? 

Well kiwiana is something that is only really done here In the amazing NZ. Like Pavlova the yummy meringue served with fruit and BBQs And the Silver ferns and the sparkling L&P fizzy drink, all of those things are Kiwiana.

Now be comtpletly honest there is so so so so many things that I could list that are Kiwiana but that would go on for far to long.

I found it challenging to write why I believe that that item is kiwiana because it is tricky to explain how this represents NZ.

I really enjoyed thinking about things that we only have over here and not over in other countries and its weird to think that other countries don't have those things. I also really enjoyed creating the DLO with the images of the Kiwiana Items.

Rattlesnake Venom! Holes x2

This is going to be an another one of my activities for holes.


Welcome to my blog!

Holes is Rimus shared story, We all have activities and learn new words and do activities. This book is about a new place called camp green lake where naughty boys go to dig holes to supposedly turn bad boys into good.
We all have to make sure our work is eye catching and to good quality.

I am going to be sharing two of my items of work.


For the first one I will be sharegin my drawing of the warden , The warden is the owner of the camp and everyone is always respecting her, she is a very powerful women and everyone obeys her.

I will also be sharing my wanted poster of Kissin Kate Barlow, SHe is one of the most interesting characters in the story so far she is one of the most dangerous villains and robbers ever she turned into a robber once the people of her town ( camp green lake ) killed her love. She then started lifting people and after she did so she applied red lipstick and kissed them this is because the person who killed her love asked for a kiss before he did.

Today, I will be sharing with you my own movie poster!
The instructions for this week is about movies and if there was a movie  about my life what would it be called? Why?
I have added in actors that partly resemble my family or resemble how they act or they members of my family really like them.

The Name of my movie is : WhoOpS!
I really liked this title because I think that it shares the fact that we make mistakes but they dont always need to be bad or awful. I also think it's pretty different.

I have created a poster of all of the family members with their names what their relation to me is and what actor is going to be playing them.

Forseable Future

Welcome Back !

My name is Maddison and I am super excited to share with you all today mine and my best friends Shays digi awards plan.

We have laid out what we are going to do on the slide and what the steps we need to take before finishing the final product.

We will be doing a pick a path story on a google slide to share the wonderful new innovations of  our home Christchurch.

That is the theme for Digi Awards 2019, Innovation Otautahi.

Do you know what a pick a path is? It is a wonderful way to make the story your own it is almost like a game but a game in a version of storytelling, So you will be faced with two or more options and whatever you pick will change the story.

If you pick the wrong answer you will be sent to the start etc.

We have planned out all of the options and you will have a tour through some of the best rooms in the new library. We will also be doing the cathedral.

The challenging thing was trying to work out all of the rooms and where they will take them

My favorite part is creating the part where we discuss what we are doing with the creative part 

Keep a Lookout for our digi awards in the foreseeable future!

The Tire Swing.

My Name is Maddison and I thank you all for coming on to my blog!
Today's blog post is going to be focused don the book I have been blogging and reading about it is called... The Boy And The Striped Pajamas!
It is going to be another one of my responses that I have been working on focusing on one chapter of the book. This is chapter seven. Before I share my work on chapter 7 I would like to give you all a summary of chapter 7 this is because it will be better and easier for you to understand my work and where it is coming from.

Summary of chapter 7.
Title Of The Chapter: How Mother Took Credit For Something She Hadn't Done.

Bruno the main character is getting bored at his new house in Out-With He has explored every corner of the house and has grown tired of its boring dull ectetick.
He desided to take matters into his own hands and one day when all of the adults in the house were gone ( except the butler Pavel ) He create a tire swing on the huge tree in his backyard. He went around asking some of the working soldiers around his property if they had a spare tire ( even though he didn't particularly like them ) Eventually he finally got hold of the tire he wished for and got some tick rope from the basement and put his plan to action. He Climbed up of the tree and started working the rope and tire to the strongest branch and after a tiring session he finally got to enjoy his creation. He was swinging back and forth thinking alone in his head ( although the swing wasn't very comfy  ) He pushed just enough to hit the strong trunk with his legs to give him enough air to do it again and again until he fell face first on the right ground, he tried his hardest not to cry as Pavel ( the only adult and the waiter ) came to his rescue him carrying him inside and placing green ointment on his leg.
The he eventually found out Pavel was once a waiter. He was shocked at this leaving him to have more and more questions in his mind. Then Mother came home Bruno told mother all about it and then he was sent to his room, he over heare mother talking to pavel saying if Father asked we will say I ( mother ) clean bruno up. This made Bruno confused.

Incase you cant read the writing it says. "This is my response. I have decided to make my response based on the main part of the chapter, this is when bruno creates a tire swing and collapses of it and to his surprise pavel rushed to save him and I think that was the main part of the story"

Doing What Is Right? Or Doing What Is Popular?

Today's blog will be about sharing a speech that I have written during a 40 minute long write the teachers gave us a few options on what we could write a demonstration of a speech, I really enjoyed writing it and enjoyed doing it very much.
We will not be presenting this speech but we will be editing and improving it this week then publishing it.

So this blog will be here to get feedback on what I can improve on and to help me publish.
Do you guys know any good ways to publish a speech?

We are doing this after we finished presenting our speeches  I have shared my original speech on this blog before and now I will be sharing this one.

What I found Challenging?
I found it challenging to give evidence to support all of my thoughts and opinions.
My favorite part:
Favorite part was finding quotes to match all of my speech ideas and points.
My Next step would be to create a video of me filming it.

A Picture Paints A Thousand Words HOME LEARNING

Today is going to be another one of my blogs about home learning.
This week is going to be completely based around a small picture. It has many different meanings and depending on you point of view you could see and think about different things.

What I think it means.
I think that it is the mind and  there are light and happy thoughts and their are sad and dark thoughts. I think that it is present really well and I love to think about all of the possibilities that it  could have.

Striped Pajamas Are The New Trend!!!

This is again another one of my responses to the boy in the striped pajamas book.

I really enjoy the prosses of making one of these responses and I enjoy having to work with different people to get an idea of what trehy like to do with their work and then what I like to do with my work and then we both get to see how the team worked together and what we have made from that.

Because I really enjoyed the prosses I desided to create a little drawing of the proses instead of writing it out directly onto the blog.

I was  teaming up with a girl in my class named Abby she was a huge help creating the response and I think we did very well.

I do think that we have only made a small slide as our DLO/Response together but I do think that it looks very interesting and fun and I hope you all enjoy it.

We have both gotten all of the information shared from the book.

What I found challenging: I think that it was pretty challenging to create and answer the questions together because we both have different points of views but I do think that it turned out well and I think that now the answers are quick and easy to read.

What I enjoyed most: I really enjoyed making everything look amazing and I really liked answering the thoughts and feelings.

My next step would be to try and make a DLO on a different source other than a google slide.

My Playground!

Kia Ora! Welcome Back!

HAPPY MATHS WEEK!

In RImu we have been ,making the most of national maths week we have all picked one out of the nine activities to work on by yourself or in pairs. I have desided to work with my amazing friend Shay. We have not yet finished the work that we have been doing but we want some feedback on what we have done so far to maybe make things easier and to share the process we have been following.

First We had to choose one of the activity and me and shay both picked to create a playground. But yet there is some rules to follow to make sure that creating a playground bleeds into the fact that this is yet maths, so the rules are that there has to be a water feature, the perimeter has to add up to 150 me and Shay desided to go with 10x15 inches.
Next we had to get planning we mapped out a plan on google slides to create an idea of what we are doing. It was so much easier to do it on slides than with cardboard I tell ya.
Soon after we got it cheeked by the teacher and then got started.
After That we then created the first step into making this playground by making a water feature.
We then started on the main playground part.
We did all of these tings by creating 3d shapes we worked with cardboard and paint.

Home Learning! Maths!

Today I will be sharing yet another amazing home learning blog.

This week is going to be about maths yes I know maths is not  always super interesting but there is more. I am assuming that we all know what mats is right? Ok so is maths an Invention Or a Discovery? This is a very tricky question and I have created a short slide on my point of view.
I have also added in my amazing friends point of view her name is shay and she has amazing posts on her blog go check it out.

I think that the question did take some thinking and decision but me and shay both agree on what our answers are cheek out the slide to find out.

Speech

Welcome to or back to my blog!

Today I will be shearing my speech that I have been working on.
I really want to get some feedback on it before I share it to the class so I desired to share it with you guys first!
My speech title is about goals and why they are important. It is a persuasive speech majority of the class is doing persuasive speeches instead  of informative.
I am really proud of my speech so far and have been practising it for the past few days.
I am trying to learn it of by heart and work on how to not stutter and to continue to look up at my audience.
I am a little nervous of shearing it to the class but I really want to get over that fear and be confident. I think this will help.

Bruno's Father.

Kia Ora!

This is another one of my responses to the Boys In The Striped Pajamas.

This response is on  if Bruno's  ( the main characters  ) father is a good man or a bad one.
Before I share it with you guys I am going to fill you up on what Bruno's father does and who he is.
According to the book so far he is a very powerful man he is believed to own or work at concentration camps for hitler if you don't know what those are a long time ago people used to hold people that believed in different things than them. It was horrific. Bruno can see a consentration camp from his window and his head fills with many questions. Bruno's father is creating his kids to agree with everything he agrees with. He has done some good thing for his servants a long time ago but now he doesn't treat them with respect.

Maths!

Welcome back!

Today I will be sharing some of the maths I have been doing and how I have solved the problems. This week we have been doing probability. I have shared it on bite able but when you do watch the video please keep in mind I don't usually use bite able but I thought that it would be fun to try.

I really enjoyed creating the bite able and doing the maths work and I do think that I have unproved than where I have started with probability instead of using the words e.g Likely unlikely etc I have been using percentages and fractions to share the probability. I still don't think that I have mastered it because I still do have some problems but I am proud of the fact that I have improved.

My favorite part in the maths that I have done is the first few slide where you have to fill in a table and then based on the table answer questions. My challenge that I go over would have to be some of the slides that I didn't get properly and then worked on it further until I finished and understand it.

3 Wishes Home Learning Blog!

Today my blog is going to be about my home learning and if I had three wishes what would it be. This is a good time to do this blog post because the new aladdin movie just came out! Havre you guys seen it? I have and it was very cool.

If you guys had three wishes what would it be? would it something your very passionate about? or something you want to achieve? I did mine on something I would love to achieve and to things that I would like to accomplish or be accomplished.

This was challenging because it was tough only picking three wishes. My favorite part was decorating the slide to match a theme!

The Boy In The Striped Pajamas

Today I will be sharing with you one of my responses on the book the Boy in the striped pajamas. In this activity we had to work with a partner. ( Mine was my friend gracie her blog is awesome cheek it out)

The book so far has been amazing it is focusing around a young boy named Bruno. He has just moved houses and sees many scared men and children in a scary place near his bedroom that only he can see from his window.

This is another blog about holes!

If you have seen a few other of my blog posts you guys will know about the book holes.
Have you read it?
The book holes is about a boy who is in the wrong place at the wrong time and has been blamed for something he hasn't done or what we think he hasn't done. We are reading that book in class as are shared story in Rimu. I am enjoying it alot and I am shocked that it keeps getting better every word and I would recommend it to all of you guys.

We all have to do many activities and I am going to share one of the creative ones with you. In this activity I have created the main character Stanley Yelnats.

Holes

Welcome Back!

This blog is going to be another one about my activities for holes.

Holes is my class's shared story. We all have a a workbook that we have to fill in. We have to share our create side to the work we have been producing and have to make sure it is eye catching and reflexes the book we have been reading to a high standard.
There are different types of creating things that we can do.

The activity I have chosen to do is me digitaly creating a picture of a yellow spotted lizard. The water truck. Or the main character Stanley Yelnats. These three things are all feature very much in this book.
We are now around chapter 7 and the book is getting better by the second.

The Boy In Striped Pyjamas.

Welcome back to my blog.

Today's blog post is about one of the responses to  the book I am reading for novel study.

The book so far concentrates around a nine year old boy called Bruno. He has one sister  a mother and father and Miria the maid in the house. They have moved from Berlin  to Out - With and Bruno is furious about the hole thing. He has being breaking a few of the family rules like talking back to parents and cutting them of. This is him expressing how furious he is.
There are many workers foaming around his house they all work for faster and only say good things about him although he never really new what father worked for. From his new room he can see many children and men scattered in a dirty scary looking place and he still doesn't know why there there. They all every day get screamed at and are always crying.
Thats  is the summary of what I have read so far.

The book is called Boy In Striped Pajamas.One of the activities we do based on the book is to create a response to what you have read so far.
