At the end of the driveway

Kia Ora Readers! As you all know my name is Maddie and I go to YMS. In Rimu we have been reading school journals and then doing activities about them, I have decided to share my favourite activity and what it was based on.
We had to read a poem and find 5 new words their meanings and using a sentence with the new words. After that were had to answer questions about the poem and then write our own. I am going to share my poem, the words, the questions and the original poem.

Original Poem.
At the end of the driveway the world begins.
At the end of the driveway the world is going.

Kids drift past trees and recycling bins.
Kids wander by, their faces glowing.

In summer sun and winter sports
kids walk to school in their uniforms.

Inside their uniforms, their itching skins.
Inside their skins, the kids are glowing.

This girl frowns, this boy ducks his head and grins:
not yet seeing, not yet knowing.

That what's gone is a new beginning,
that what begins is already going.

Fast then faster. Adults with their faces,
Whoosh bu in cars to adult places.

 My Poem

My poem.At the end of the driveways kids leave for class. The puddles spread across the road like glass,As the kids wonder along the damp side walks, As they blurt out one of their chatter talks.Trees dancing in the crisp breeze,The kids walk with such ease. The school stands like a castle towering over. They reach the castle just in time, luckily they had there four leaf clover.

My Poem is also about the end of the driveway.

A,  The injury is of kids smiling and laughing while going to school.
