Day One. Summer Learning Journey. Discovering Aotearoa.

Kia Ora!

Welcome to my blog. This is another Summer learning post that I am super glad to share with you all today. It was very interesting to  think about and I have enjoyed working on and completing this activity very much. I have enjoyed this activity  because I have found it really interesting to dig deeper and it is really cool to share a bit of where my family has come from.

I really found it fun to relate my family to Abel Tasman, Polynesia like Kupe. I found it fun and I am glad I shared my work in this way but I think that there could be   more creative way to do it witch is what I want to do in my next blog post to make it more interesting not only to me but to the viewer.

Thank you so much for coming onto my blog and reading my blog post. I hope you enjoyed. Please come back again and please give me some helpful feedback so I can improve on my blog posts next time.

  1. Hi there Maddie, It's Abby from Yaldhurst School.

I like the way you made a background to go with the words to make it look more interesting.

This reminds me of when I found a bit out about my family, before this activity I didn't know much about my older family.

Next time you could explain why you are doing these blog posts and what the SLJ is for those that may not know.

What did you already know before this activity?

    Kind regards,
    Abby.

  2. Hello Maddie, its me Parwin! I see you are also doing the SLJ, the challenge is on!

I really like how you presented everything so well and you also kind of included how you felt as well. I also like the background too!

This reminds me of when I did this and my parents and grandparents are all from Afghanistan. But I don't know if my great grandparents are from Afghanistan as well.

I think that you did an awesome job but if you included what the SLJ is for those who don't know what it is!

    Awesome work!

Looking forward to your next posts,
    Parwin

  3. Hello Madie ,
Its me alan. I did not know you was in the summer learning journey.

Excellent job maddie and a very catchy title. I really liked how you took a photo.

This reminds me of when I did this and my parents and grandparents are all from India.

If you want to improve maybe you can put a colourful background.
    Awesome work!
Looking forward to your next posts,
    Kind regards
    Alan

  5. Kia ora Maddie,

Great work on completing another Summer Learning Journey activity - keep up the good work. Don’t forget to comment back to blog commenters as well as on others SLJ blog posts to gain extra points.

Wow, that is pretty cool that you have family scattered all over the world. Would you like to go some visit of them in their home country someday?
Some of my family originate from Ireland too and I would love to go and visit there someday.

Until next time, happy blogging :)

  6. Mōrena Maddison,

Congratulations on completing another activity! It's so cool that you've got family all over the world! Most of my family live here in New Zealand or in Australia. My dad's family are originally from Scotland too! Have you been there before?

While I'm here I just wanted to let you know that the Summer Learning Journey finishes next Friday (January 24th). You shared some wonderful work earlier in the programme but I've noticed that you haven't been as active recently. There's still plenty of time to jump back online and have a go at some of the activities you haven't done yet - Emma and I would love to read them. :)

Have an awesome day, Maddison. I do hope to see more SLJ posts from you soon. :)

    Mā te wā,

    Mikey
